$2.01 - Lewis Carrol a Biography by Anne Clark
1979 HC DJ (31317-242 BO) vintage book
(Book Resque)

Carrol was the pseudonym of the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, a mathematical don at Oxford.  He never married, left England only once, was fascinated by games and puzzles, became one of the foremost early amateur portrait photographers, and was strongly attracted to little girls: the “child friend” he devoted himself to instructing, entertaining and photographing.  The most famous of them, Alice Liddell, the daughter of the Dean of Christ Church, was immortalized in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

Dating 1979, this hardcover with dust jacket measures 9 x 6 ½ (approx.) and contains 284 pages with some photos.  The dust jacket has shelf wear (see photo).  The book cover, pages and photos look great.  But this book was at some time owned by The University Club of LA and has their sticker as well as stamp inside the book as well as the stamp on the page edges.

(PLEASE READ: I’m elderly and can’t smell very well so I can’t tell if the previous owner was a smoker.  All books come from estate, tag or yard sales so I don't know if the previous owner was a smoker nor if they had an animal.  Selling as is.  Buy more than one item and save on postage.)
